Dave Garbani Rock Carvings

These exquisite rock carvings are done by Dave Garbani - a local artist in Ridgecrest. He tediously hand carves natural basalt using hammer and chisels, without power tools. These images are from photographs he studied and transposed onto rock. Beautiful work indeed! The rock sizes and weights vary greatly, from small hand sized to large boulders. This work is a labor intensive process, of course. Some of Dave's smaller petroglyph depictions are available at Maturango Museum in Ridgecrest.
